Habitus Books is a small, independent publishers of quality literature. We look for material that is well-conceived and well written but may not find its way into the mainstream world of market-driven publishing. We believe there are many talented and unheard voices that deserve to be heard. Our goal is to seek them out and bring them to the discerning reader.

We present our first title—Things to Be Survived: Tales of Resolution and Resurrection by Scott Tinley, a well-published writer from our home town of Del Mar, California. Scott has five books in print. This is his first foray into fiction and we trust that you will not be disappointed.

The book is a collection of thematically-connected stories about characters that faced typical and atypical tragedies but somehow find what goodness exists in the most unlikely of places.

There is such reward in pathos because it reminds us all that we are humans regardless. My characters taught me the pleasure in allowing some sadness in our life, of embracing the pain, letting it inform us and then pass right through.
